Waud Player Piano
What stands out about this company's name is the history of its family tree. The Foster-Armstrong Company parented the Waud. The reason that this is important to know is that Foster-Armstrong later joined forces with Chickering, Knabe and other fantastic name brands to become The American Piano Company. The American Piano Co. only chose the best of the best to fuel the industrial fire that made top-of-the-line pianos. The player pianos that came out of this group were of particular note and were held high in the esteem of the piano community.
The discovery of this piano in Portland was a surprise and a pleasure. Once again, we teamed forces with the fanatically fabulous Floyd Chamberlain, and he has done his usual magical work to the player mechanism. The Waud sounds and plays in keeping with the way it feels to ride the Player Pedals... like a Sunday walk in the park.
