Yamaha C3 Grand
This particular example of a Yamaha C3 6'1" Conservatory Grand is truly a rare find. It was housed in a gated community and only saw use at three cocktail parties by a paid performer. This piano is as new as when it was purchased in Portland in 1977. It has a perfect finish with no scratches or dents that mar the case. It is a very attractive and modern piano. The interior is likewise immaculate, as you can see in the photos of the action. All of the parts are original and in pristine condition.
Probably the most outstanding aspect of this particular Yamaha C3 piano is the warmth of the tone. Unlike the characteristic brightness most Yamahas are known for, this grand has been voiced to sound much more like a Mason and Hamlin with it's rich, medium tone. The touch is superb. Of course a matching bench is included. As new Yamaha Conservatory Grands run about $30,000, you can see why this piano is such a find.
Not much in-house work was needed, as this piano was found in near-pristine condition. But as is the case of any piano, it did need a complete regulation. Here is a list of the things we did to give the Yamaha C3 an even and consistent touch and tone.
